When you arrive
for your first appointment, you will need to fill out my Client Intake Form. If your massage is being billed
to an insurance company, you will also need to provide me with your claim information.
After the formalities
of paperwork are done, we will sit and talk to get to know each other a bit.
I will listen well, so that
I can provide you with the massage experience you are looking for. I will vary
what techniques I incorporate, the pressure I use, and my communication with you depending upon what your goals are.
I will answer any questions
you might have and explain what type of session I have designed for you before we get started with the massage, so you know
what to expect.
The type of massage I practice
is not painful. Even when doing Deep Tissue and Treatment work, I choose to incorporate
techniques that at most are uncomfortable. It is my belief that our bodies
react more positively to kinder work and if you warm an area and give it some “loving” attention, the tension
and pain will melt away with less effort. You will know you had a massage, but
won't be bruised or sore the next day. My clients tell me on a regular basis that I seem to know exactly the right amount
of pressure to use.
My goal will
be to give you the best massage you have ever had. My style is intuitive, nurturing and has good flow.
After the session
is over, I will share with you information or thoughts I have about your massage and/or what I feel is going on with your body. I
may also have some self-care suggestions to share with you.
As my client, I ask that you communicate openly with me. The time we spend together is about you and your
well-being. Open communication allows me to know what you are looking to accomplish with your massage and gives me the
opportunity to fulfill those needs.
